Our impact since 1972 has been profound and far-reaching, as Pragati Pratishthan has tirelessly worked to uplift tribal communities in Western Maharashtra. From providing vital healthcare services and clean drinking water to implementing sustainable agricultural practices and empowering youth through education and skill development, our efforts have transformed lives and communities. Through our dedication and perseverance, we have achieved milestones
in mitigating health disparities, enhancing agricultural productivity, and fostering economic empowerment. Our holistic approach has not only improved living conditions but also instilled hope and resilience in the hearts of those we serve. As we reflect on our journey spanning over five decades, our commitment to driving positive change remains unwavering, paving the way for a brighter and more inclusive future.
Through our Tap Water scheme, spanning 145 villages, Pragati Pratishthan has revolutionized access to clean water, transforming the lives of over 30,000 women. By installing piped water systems in remote tribal areas, we’ve alleviated the burden of arduous journeys and empowered women to focus on their families and education. This initiative has not only quenched thirst but also fostered community resilience and improved health outcomes. Our impact underscores the transformative power of sustainable water management, ensuring equitable access to this fundamental resource and laying the foundation for thriving communities.
Pragati Pratishthan’s transformative impact on agricultural development is evident in our multifaceted approach. Through the construction of 24 cement dams, 10 wire mesh dams, and over 50 farm ponds, we’ve ensured year-round water availability for more than 2500 farmers, revitalizing farming practices and bolstering food security. By providing solar pump irrigation systems to over 250 farmers, we’ve enabled year-round farming and increased incomes by 30 to 35 percent, halting migration and fostering stability in rural communities. These efforts not only empower farmers with sustainable solutions but also cultivate resilience against economic uncertainties, paving the way for long-term prosperity in tribal regions.
Pragati Pratishthan’s impact on education is profound, addressing the dire need for quality schooling in tribal regions. Since 1985, we’ve established residential schools and rehabilitation centers, benefiting over 400 hearing-impaired students. Additionally, our hostel in Mokhada has supported more than 700 tribal children, providing access to education and vocational training. Through workshops, aptitude tests, and vocational programs, we’re equipping youth with essential skills for future success. Despite challenges, our commitment to inclusive education remains unwavering, fostering empowerment and opportunity for generations to come.
Pragati Pratishthan’s Solar Gram Scheme or Solar Microgrid system have revolutionized energy access in rural areas. Through our initiatives, 26 villages have been electrified, benefiting over 6,000 families and installing 213 street lights. By harnessing solar energy, we’ve provided sustainable and reliable electricity, empowering communities and enhancing safety. These efforts have not only improved living standards but also fostered economic growth and resilience against power shortages. As a result, we’ve illuminated pathways to progress and laid the foundation for a brighter, more sustainable future in tribal regions.
